Two years ago for Garry's 13th birthday we seriously contemplated flying out to California to take him to Legoland. Nuts, I know! At the very same time mom found out that Legoland was coming to Sunny Florida. So we cancelled our trip and spent plenty of money at Fun spot instead!
At long last the park opened this October. With Sara and Gage we headed to Legoland
with our fellow homeschoolers. Beautiful day and short lines made for lots of fun! Aidan rode a wooden coaster for the first time -"it was a teeny tiny bit scary!" Most of the rides were kid controlled. Lol, after watching Bryce drive the Lego car we're thankful he won't be getting his license for many years!!

Park day (with Gage)
It's a Boy Party!
This week has been pretty laid back. Garry and Shelby are off to camp in Georgia (Shelby's first year!) so it's just been me and the boys. Several weeks ago when Bryce realized that both would be gone for the entire week, he got a little upset. We came up with a "boy party" idea which he has been excitedly counting down the days. Well, this morning was the last day before we head back up north, and I realized that today must be the BIG DAY! So, this morning we decorated and picked up Bryce's back up BFF-Jay Jay (TJ-wish you were here!). What else does a boy do at a boy party but play video games! I offered to set up a board game or something other-but Bryce just wanted to play the Wii. Yup, I probably ruined their little brains, but I let them play until they were tired of playing! And although Aidan and Gage were too little to play the games, they did enjoy the cupcakes!
(which is awesome until one realizes this was probably his first!)

Arts Fest
If you are in the Orlando area this week, be sure to make time for Arts Fest (Feb 6-15). It's an annual FREE event that the Red Chair Project (Arts and entertainment) hold in this area. You can catch a show, visit a museum or just try something that you might not otherwise.
Today we went to the History Center, downtown Orlando. There are 4 floors of history, some hands on for the kids. It starts where Florida starts, back when it was all swamp land, and continues to today. Fun and interesting, although the younger kids aren't so entertained as there is a lot of reading! It is, however a great place for one wanting to learn about Florida's history. Plus, they often have special exhibits. This spring they are hosting all about Jim Henson. I didn't know of his history other than the Muppets. There was some of his drawings of his early artwork, actual muppets (I had no idea they were so big!) and videos of his commercials, shows and movies. I found it very entertaining, and there was one section devoted to the little people! Touch and feel screens, finger and hand puppets, and one could even feed Cookie Monster with extra large cookies!

He was no match for the little people!
